Successful Court Decision for Cross Examination – Child Maintenance Case
Our firm achieved a positive result before the Family Court of Limassol in an ongoing child maintenance case.
Acting on behalf of the mother, we filed an application seeking the cross-examination of the father after he claimed that his income was low and therefore limited his ability to pay monthly maintenance for their minor child. We considered it necessary to request his cross-examination so that the Court could properly assess the accuracy of these claims and determine whether his financial position was presented correctly.
We argued that key parts of his written statement required in-person questioning in order to demonstrate that the situation was not as presented and to assist the Court in obtaining a clearer picture of his true financial capacity and the child’s actual needs.
The Court accepted our position and ordered that the father must appear before the Court to be cross-examined on important issues, including his income and financial capacity, disputed child-related expenses, transportation arrangements, and the level of financial support he claims to provide.
